For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
God’s Plan of Salvation
My friend, I would like to ask you the most important question of your life: Do you know where you will be spending eternity?
Have you received God’s forgiveness for your sins?
Possibly the most important question to everyone should be, “What is going to happen to me after I die?” Or to put it another way, “If I had to stand before God today, would I make it into Heaven or would I be condemned to Hell?”
The simple truth is God left us instructions in the Bible, and He makes it clear as to how we can escape the punishment of Hell and have assurance of a home in Heaven. It all comes down to your relationship with Jesus Christ, and you are in the right place to find out how that relationship works.
The Problem is that we have all been separated from God. The Bible teaches us that since the first man and woman on earth, a sin nature has been present in all people. It says, “… by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” (Rm 5:12). In Romans 3:23 it says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.", and Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one.” Sin is any thing we say, or do, or even think that is against God's laws and commands, and those sins separate us from God. Sin also has a penalty. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The "wage" or payment for our sin is spiritual death, and eternal separation from God—Hell.
The Wrong Answer is religion and good works. Religions try to create their own ways to God. Their systems may seem logical, but they cannot solve the problem created by our sin. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8–9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” God’s thoughts and ways are what is important, not man’s systems or ideas. God’s Word, the Bible, gives us the answers for full forgiveness.
The Good News is that Jesus Christ is the answer. From the beginning when God created the world He loved us, and He loved us so much that He provided a way of salvation. That way of salvation is Jesus Christ Himself. God sent His Son to die on the Cross and rise from the dead three days later. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, He became the sacrifice for our sin, so that by receiving Him we do not have to pay for our sin! By His grace, salvation is provided! In Romans 5:8, the Bible says, “But God commendeth (or demonstrated) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
What exactly do we need to do? To have a relationship with God and an eternal home in Heaven, we must recognize our sin, and admit that we need a Saviour. We need to stop trusting in our works and our religions, and place our full trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of our sin. Pray to God, confessing that you are a sinner needing the Saviour, and place your full trust, which is faith, in Jesus. In Romans 10:13 the Bible says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” It is a promise from God that if you will pray to Him, confess that you are a sinner, ask Him to forgive your sins, and turn to Him alone to be your Saviour; He promises to save you and give you the free gift of eternal life. You can make that decision today by praying from your heart, to confess your sin and receive the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
